New rink in Tizi Ouzou

A small rink has been constructed in the city of Tizi Ouzou. A member of AAIIH staff, Anissa Dahmani, met with the owners who were keen to work with the AAIIH to create a hockey club with adult and junior teams. Look out for more news in the coming months regarding the creation of this club.

France:

Yassine Fahas played 6 games this season with Dijon in Ligue Magnus.

Kev Benchabane played 25 games with Epinal in Ligue Magnus getting 2 assists.

Nordine Mahdidi played 10 games with Rouen in Division 2 ending with 12 penalty minutes.

Mohamed Benyahia played 15 games with Evry in Division 2 finishing with 1 goal, 6 assists and 18 penalty minutes.

Harond Litim played 17 games with Francais Volants in Division 2 getting 5 goals, 4 assists and 62 penalty minutes.

Felix Chougui finished Viry in Division 2′s 2nd highest scorer getting 11 goals, 7 assists and 26 penalty minutes in 17 games.

Nassim Boulakdem played 16 games with Cergy in Division 3 getting 1 goal 5 assists and 22 penalty minutes.

United Kingdom:

Khalid Abdulwahid played 1 game for Streatham Redskins in ENIHL Div 1 and 7 games for Streatham Bruins in ENIHL Div 2.

Karim Kerbouche played 8 games for Lee Valley Lions in ENIHL Div 2 getting 1 assist and 25 penalty minutes.

Jumana Abdulwahid is a 12 year old Algerian girl who players for Streatham Blizzards in the UK, along with sister Asma, we hope these two are the start of a future Algerian female national team.

African Nations Cup of Ice Hockey

September 2009 will see the first ever African Nations Cup of Ice Hockey, taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, between the 19th and 26th.

We are pleased to announce that the Association Algerienne de Ice et Inline Hockey will be sending a team.

Team Algeria secure first ever win in Paris

Team Algeria won their first ever game in an exciting exhibition game against French division 1 team Viry-Chatillon. Down 5-4, Team Algeria equalised late in the 3rd period  with Harond Litim scoring on a penalty shot, and with minutes left  Felix Chougui scored the game winner, ending 6-5.

Other scorers were Ali Khaldi and Karim Chaiblaine scoring two on his debut.
