The week long stay will be used as preparation for the African Nations cup, and a chance to build closer ties with the Moroccan ice hockey association who have recently become members of the IIHF. Supporters are welcome to come and meet the team and watch them train and play.

In other news 16 year old Algerian goalie Khalid Abdulwahid made his debut for Streatham Redskins in the English National League.

In this weeks Powerplay magazine there was a feature on Algerian hockey and an interview with Khalid Abdulwahid and Karim Kerbouche.

September 2009 will see the first ever African Nations Cup of Ice Hockey, taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, between the 19th and 26th.

We are pleased to announce that the Association Algerienne de Ice et Inline Hockey will be sending a team.
